One two-month journey through the Land Down Under has been cancelled days after the death of an senior lady who was left behind by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the excursion for a rest. The liner sailed away leaving her and went back later that day after the crew discovered the woman was missing.

A large-scale rescue mission located her remains the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the incident, together with police and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that travelers and staff on the ship were notified that the rest of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and earlier mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he further stated that guests would be provided a full refund, and said the company was working "to organize the homeward trips of the individuals via specially arranged planes".

Authorities also issued an revised communication, and said they had "issued a order to the Captain" prohibiting any new passengers from boarding the liner.
